The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is an academically rigorous pre-university course of study taken over two years. Students undertake six subjects, with three to four studied at a higher level (HL) and the remaining at a standard level (SL). Higher level subjects are prerequisites for most university courses, and university acceptance is contingent on predicted grades in these subjects in addition to the overall IBDP score.
