Researching and Writing

A creative writing class encourages students to tap into their imagination and passion for self-expression. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, students explore the elements of fiction and poetry including plot, character, setting, dialogue, word choice, rhythm and flow. They analyze examples of short stories, poems, and other works, then apply the techniques they learn by crafting their own original pieces and sharing them with others in a supportive workshop environment. Through writing, revising, and discussing their creative work, students can develop their unique voices and gain confidence in their ability to craft artistic works of prose, poetry, or both
